About me
I am a Full Professor at İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi, where I currently serve as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Founding Director of the EKOAYRA - Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Application and Research Center. With more than twenty years of academic, research, and industry experience in Türkiye and the United Kingdom, I have worked as a researcher, consultant, contractor, and project engineer in both academia and the civil engineering sector. Previously, I served as Vice Dean and Associate Professor at Yaşar University, worked as a Research Fellow at University of Greenwich, and as a Project Engineer at Black & Veatch. My expertise includes structural health monitoring, non-destructive testing (NDT), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), infrastructure assessment, and disaster-resilient engineering systems. I was also nominated as the Head Consultant for Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) at ISTT – Society for Trenchless Technology.
